Codes and referral

A code can give you a plan discount, a free trial, a top-up bonus, balance or plan access. Referral codes connect two accounts so that both earn cashback on paid spend. This page covers how to enter a code, what each kind does, and how referral cashback works.

There is one place to enter any kind of code: the Have a code? box on the Balance page. Type the code and choose Check code. You do not need to know what kind of code you hold. The Plan and Share pages show the code you are holding, but they have no box of their own.

Once a code is checked, what happens next depends on what the code holds.

KindWhat happens
Plan discountThe code is held as a Code active banner and you are taken to the Plan page. Each eligible plan card shows its discounted price, and the discount applies when you take a plan.
Free trialHeld the same way. The trial starts when you start it from the Plan page.
Top-up bonusHeld as the banner, and you are taken to the Balance page. The bonus amount appears as you type a top-up amount, and it is added when you top up.
Balance creditThe box shows what the code holds and waits for you to choose Use code. The credit is added right away.
Plan accessSame confirmation. You get a coupon: plan access for a set number of days. See Subscriptions.
Token allocationSame confirmation. You get a number of tokens, valid for a set number of days.
Referral codeSame confirmation. The code is attached to your account. See Referral cashback.
Task campaignThe box links to Open the campaign card on the Share page, where the form to submit your entry is.
Attribution codeIt was recorded when you signed up, so the box only says so and asks for nothing.

Balance credit, plan access, token allocation and referral codes can be used once and cannot be undone, so they never run until you choose Use code.

The Code active banner shows the code and what it gives, and it has a Remove control. Only one code is active at a time. Checking a valid plan discount, free trial or top-up bonus code replaces the active one. A code that fails, or one that waits for Use code, leaves it alone. The banner stays while you move between dashboard pages, and a full page reload clears it.

If a code cannot be used, the box shows the reason: the code was not found, is no longer active, has expired, is not valid yet, has reached its usage limit, was already used by you, or does not apply to the plan.

A code has a share link in the form kenari.id/code/CODE. The link behaves like the box:

  • Signed in, it checks the code and takes you to the page where the code can be used.
  • Signed out, it sends you to sign in. If you sign up instead, the code is attached as soon as the account exists.

When the referral program is on, you earn cashback on what the friends you invite spend, and they earn the same cashback on their own spend.

  1. Create your code. On the Share page, open Invite friends and choose Create my code. Share the code or use Copy link.
  2. Your friend attaches it. The easiest way is to sign up through your link. A friend with an existing account can enter your code in the Have a code? box, choose Check code, then choose Use code. The same friend can instead enter it in Referral code under Invite friends and choose Attach. A referral code can be attached once, only within a limited time after sign-up, and cannot be changed. Two accounts cannot refer each other.
  3. Cashback accrues. Each day, kenari adds up the paid spend of the accounts in a referral and credits cashback as a percentage of it. The rate depends on the plan of the account that created the code, and both sides earn the same rate. The Share page shows it next to the word Cashback. Live rates are in the plan table on Subscriptions.
  4. Cashback lands in your balance. Cashback is credited to your balance 3 days after the spend date. Cashback is earned on spend during the 12 months after your friend attached your referral code.

Only paid spend counts. That includes PAYG usage, plan purchases and renewals, Pods and domains. Usage on free models, plan quota and coupons earns nothing, and neither does spending balance that came from a bonus or from cashback. The amount credited can be lower than the rate suggests when the program’s monthly limits apply.

The Invite friends card on the Share page shows your friends and your cashback, split into Pending cashback and Cashback settled. Cashback history lists every entry, marked From a friend or From your own spend. The card appears only while the program is on.
